Selena J. Layden, Ph.D., BCBA-D
Selena J. Layden, Ph.D., BCBA-D is a Training Coordinator for Virginia Commonwealth University – Autism Center for Excellence (VCU-ACE). In her role, Selena facilitates the PARAPro initiative and the Virginia Applied Behavior Analysis Consortium as well as working on other state-wide training initiatives for families, schools, and service providers who support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
Selena earned her Ph.D. from the College of William & Mary in the area of Education Policy, Planning, and Leadership with an emphasis in Special Education Administration. She earned her Master’s degree from St. Cloud State University in the area of Applied Behavior Analysis. Selena has twelve years of experience working with individuals with ASD from pre-school through adulthood. She has worked as an Autism Coordinator in Henrico County Public Schools and an Instructional Specialist in the York County School Division. In addition to working in public schools, Selena has done consulting and provided in-home services. She has presented at regional and state conferences in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorders and Applied Behavior Analysis. Selena also has taught higher education courses in the area of ASD.
