April Lynch, MS, CRC, has been a part of the ACE team as a Training Associate since 2019. April feels like
her role at ACE is a full circle experience since she began her career as a Teaching Assistant working with children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. It is an honor to be able to share her
experiences and relate with those of the teachers and school division employees wanting to promote
positive change and inclusion. April’s passion is mental health and supporting divisions to promote
stability, resiliency, and overall social emotional learning in their students.

In addition to her ACE duties, April has served as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor at the VCU
Rehabilitation Research and Training Center since 2013. She utilizes a strength-based approach to
support individuals with disabilities in obtaining long-term employment by fostering independence and
promoting autonomy within a collaborative network. April earned her Master of Science in Clinical
Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at VCU and is currently in her Counseling Residency at
RRTC and the Children’s Hospital at VCU working toward becoming a VA Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). April thoroughly enjoys providing disability and mental health awareness education training within the community to promote a better understanding of the rehabilitation process.
