Students will graduate from APS with the ability to achieve a high quality of life that provides equal access to all life experiences with self-determination, self-sufficiency, and self-fulfillment.

Arlington Public Schools embraces and respects the individuality of all students, and provides a responsive education based on high academic standards that is differentiated to meet each student's individual learning needs.

  • We believe that all students have the right to feel safe, respected, nurtured, and included throughout their educational experience
  • We believe that positive and constructive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members are instrumental for student success
  • We believe that service delivery to students should include innovative, rigorous, and dynamic instruction, use of evidence-based practices, and use of data-driven decision making
  • We believe that all staff require ongoing, professional development and support

  1. Maximize access to the instructional day by effectively utilizing supports and differentiated instruction
  2. Meet the needs of a growing and diverse population by developing and expanding systemic instructional programs
  3. Increase consistent implementation of evidence-based practices (EBPs) by all APS staff.
  4. Staff will strengthen and develop effective relationships with families to best serve student needs.
