Individuals with ASD will have challenges in developing and using communication appropriately.  Regardless of the person’s ability, everyone with ASD should be able to use Functional Communication effectively.  This allows a person to express his or her needs, wants, feelings, and preferences.  This presentation will define Functional Communication and describe the functions of communication that every person should be able to use effectively.
